The University of North Carolina has signed ex‑Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone to a six‑year, $50 million deal, giving him an average annual salary of $8.33 million.

UNC’s new head coach, Michael Malone, will be paid $8.33 million a year, placing him just behind Kansas’ Bill Self as the highest‑paid men’s college basketball coach. The deal, announced on Tuesday, marks Malone’s first college head‑coaching position after a decade in the NBA, where he led the Nuggets to a championship.
