Pirates' Jones Makes First MLB Start Since 2024

Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jared Jones makes his first MLB start since 2024 against the Minnesota Twins on Friday night, returning from elbow surgery that sidelined him all of last season.

After undergoing internal brace surgery in May 2025, Jones compiled a 6-8 record and a 4.14 ERA in 22 starts during his rookie campaign. He posted a 2.39 ERA in five rehab starts. tr-sport.click

Pirates manager Don Kelly moved Carmen Mlodzinski to the bullpen to bolster the relief corps. "We feel this gives the team the best chance to win in all areas," Kelly stated.
