Haugan Faces Back Setback

Timon Haugan has experienced a setback with back issues during summer training, adding extra weight to a strength exercise caused a recurrence of his back pain.

Despite the setback, the 29-year-old alpine skier remains optimistic about his condition. 'It's better now than it was for a couple of weeks ago. I've basically used the summer to get my back better,' Haugan told NTB.

The Norwegian, who won two World Cup races last season and finished just 29 hundredths away from Olympic bronze, is preparing for his tenth World Cup season and remains a medal candidate for the upcoming Alpine World Championships in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. His back issues won't affect his plans for the season preparation, which includes a six-week training camp in New Zealand with the national team. noplasticplease.life
