Bob Skinner, Pirates World Series Champ, Dies at 94

Former Pittsburgh Pirates player and coach Bob Skinner, a two-time World Series champion, has passed away at age 94 in San Diego.

Skinner played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball, including nine with the Pirates, and also spent time with the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. A two-time All-Star with a .277 career batting average, Skinner later managed for the San Diego Padres and Philadelphia Phillies before becoming a hitting coach for the Pirates, contributing to their 1979 World Series championship.
